The Venture 1 curry import project is still making lots of exiting progress, despite some delays...
The main delay
Jomnin requires Vissot to get approval for the product and packaging from a qualified authority before agreeing to import their products into Australia. This approval is taking a while. It is almost 3 months since we sent the packaging to experts to make sure it meets the labelling standards for Australia. Vissot was advised about one of the ingredients which requires further investigation and we are still waiting for word regarding this. Vissot cannot print the packaging until they know for sure that the ingredients do not need to be altered. Vissot has to order 100,000 packets (the minimum order that the packaging company will allow). Therefore, they cannot rush the process and make mistakes. Once the package is printed it cannot be adjusted.

In the mean time...
Despite the wait, we have kept ourselves very busy. Michelle Ward, one of our members, has been using her creativity to make some Christmas gift recipe boxes to help promote the Vissot curry. These are just trial packages and, if they are popular, we could see if Vissot is interested in making the boxes up for us to sell as Christmas gifts next year.
