Performance indicators

One of the aims of Jomnin is to give supporters and Healthland an idea of how well the Vissot industry is performing. This helps us to know what areas of weakness exist and how we can work together to give Vissot the support they need to improve.  At Jomnin, we aim to give honest feed back but at the same time we try to give Vissot as much support as we can to help them improve.

Sensory analysis - outstanding result

This test was carried out on 28 November 2012 in the SDI (Sanitarium Development and Innovation) Sensory Booths, using 23 SDI/SED staff as panelists, 14 males (61%) and 9 females. Each panelist was presented with three samples of Vissot Curry (from different batches) on Rice. Panelists tasted the samples in a balanced, randomised rotation and were asked to rate the samples on a number of attributes including aroma, colour, flavour liking and strength, sweetness, saltiness, spicy heat, oiliness, aftertaste, indicate overall liking then rank the samples in order of preference. They were also asked to comment on their preference. Water was provided to cleanse the palate between samples.

The results demonstrated subtle differences among the samples but they were not large enough to affect Overall Liking. All samples were rated very high in Aftertaste Liking and extremely low in Off Flavour. Overall Liking of all three samples averaged 76-77, benchmarked by SensoMetrics as excellent (a score of 70 or more for any product is considered excellent).
